LK: When or what changed your perception of the world?
II: Weight. 20 kg. Gained for 4 months. Years of yo-yo dieting, calorie counting, deprivation and guilt before I came to terms with food and built a loving relationship with it. The change in perception – when I realized that my connection with food is the mirror image of another aspect of life. In my case – the emotional pain of leaving home and living alone at 16 on the other side of the world.

II: A signature piece – a designer bag, edgy sunglasses, a distinctive coat, a bold hat.
LK: What are you wearing right now?
II: A blue and white checkered dress.
LK: Tell us more about the outfit that made your day and why you remember it?
II: September. Two and a half months after I had given birth to my second child. In an eager search for the perfect outfit to wear at a very special and posh wedding…in 10 days. Pregnancy, giving birth, and caring for the little one was not the perfect time for such a pursuit. For a few days, I tried on every single dress that caught my eye in all famous and not-so-famous boutiques in the city. But nothing fit my style and my feel. I was looking for something edgy, and sexy, and elegant, and inspirational, and statement-making, and…me. My last hope was attending Sofia Fashion Week. And there it was! My dress! No hesitation! I got it fitted in the models’ dressing room and was to receive it two days later. Voilà! Hand sewn by a remarkable young designer crafting one-of-a-kind pieces of art. This one was for me!

II: My shopping list is full of just travel destinations. I need to dress in new experiences.

GL: Pink Victoria Secret pajamas – it’s almost midnight.
LK: Tell us more about the outfit that made your day and why you remember it?
GL: “It was our 20th anniversary and I was wondering what to wear. I could not find the right outfit as you know, we, women, have nothing to wear! I only had a couple of hours – perfect for a new outfit hunt! 🙂
…But with Covid-19? Everything is closed, or almost closed. Then a thought came to my mind – how about calling the guy who manages one of my favorite stores in the city? Yes!
...And an hour later I was in the store, opened just for me! And here we are! New outfit, favorite color (black), perfect mood for a great celebration! You can see this on my face!”

GL: A pair of boots Dolce & Gabbana (love them), a leather jacket (like the one I lost in Geneva, my favorite Sandro Ferrone one), a new little black dress (everybody needs a new one once in a while), a casual Louis Vuitton bag (for travel, great for the flights when the Covid thing is over).
