New Year Resolution on Clothes
Hey, girls! How do you feel about NY resolutions?
I’ve always anticipated the start of the New Year with both exhilaration and fear. On one hand, it gives you the excuse for a new start, but on the other it demands changes and it feels like you are starting all over rather than just progressing further. I’m more inclined to regard New Year resolutions as setting out the annual objectives after appraising the past efforts. 😊
We have a lot to be grateful for to 2019! We appreciate all the invaluable lessons and all the dedicated efforts to create and manage a smart tool for outfit creation in a seamless app experience.
2019 was important for all the milestones achieved:
✔ The rebirth of La Koketa
✔ Our precious early users – YOU on board! 💚
✔ The trials and errors that in getting an app business started.
✔ The priceless insights, small wins and big plans that keep you going.
So, 2020 will be even more actionable and motivating:
✔ Evolving and reaching more women.
✔ Making them feel confident and stylish on any occasion.
✔ Saving them a year of their life on deciding What to Wear?
✔ Helping them live effortlessly and shop consciously.
Traditionally I’m not into reinventing myself so I decide to focus on something actionable, achievable and mindful. I’m constantly witnessing the toll on the planet by the carbon footprint incessantly left by its dear inhabitants and this is the direction I choose to pursue. Since fashion industry is the second biggest polluter and user of virgin resources, I want to “be the change [I] want to see in the world” as Mahatma Gandhi once said.
Ever since I’ve started using La Koketa, I’m kind of reluctant to buy new clothes and I try to use the ones I own more diversely and to shop smartly and consciously.
La Koketa app reinvents my closet by suggesting fresh ideas for outfit combinations. Whenever I desperately need a new piece of clothing, I use La Koketa again to show me how the desired item matches my closet. If the suggested outfits justify the purchase, only then do I make the investment. Simple as that!
My strategy is straightforward:
1. Invest in timeless pieces that last for years like good-quality basics and a few luxury accessories.
2. Use La Koketa to mix and match beautiful outfits in stylish combos to spice up your looks and never run out of ideas.
3. Shop for new pieces consciously by using La Koketa to check how they combine with the rest of your closet.
Here is an example of a casual and business look with the same sweater and pieces that I’ve had for years. The casual one features skinny jeans and sneakers, while the business combines flared pants with high-heel boots.
Thus, I manage to keep my investment in clothing to a minimum, wear fabulous outfits, shop smartly and prevent the production of BILLIONS of clothes that remain unsold and burned or resting at landfills.
What do you think? Are you ready to contribute your share to the environmental well-being?
I believe that transformative change starts incrementally, builds up and at one point becomes pervasive. As with most new beginnings, the scary part is getting started. 😊
Stay fab and think forward!
