Six Styling Roles facilitated by La Koketa app
I’ve come to realize over the past month that I must embrace different roles that entail various mindsets and capabilities, all of which happen under the same roof. I’m supposed to be the teacher, the mother, the cook, the wife, the entrepreneur, the animator, you name it. 😊 💪
The difficulty, however, arises from the fact that we usually associate our roles with certain contextual changes that are not the case right now. So, I decided to ease the transition into each role by dressing up accordingly, the goal being to tune effortlessly into the activity at hand.
This in turn reminded me of a powerful decision making technique called The Six Thinking Hats developed by Eduard De Bono so I decided to refer to my coping strategy as “The Six Styling Roles”. I find this very efficient because the outfit change immediately evokes the right frame of mind even in the absence of the relevant setting. Thus, in my current world the proper outfit influences the character switch, which in turn improves daily activities and decisions.
My strategy is to think of comfy clothes that I haven’t worn for a while and here’s how I use La Koketa app to help me execute it to perfection with regard to looking good and feeling stylish even within the confines of my own home. 👗💟
The drill is easy and pretty much clear. I usually get up very early to have my morning latte in solitude and silence. I enter that self-care mode to reflect and reconnect with myself so no need for distractions and of course I do in my PJ’s.
Then off to my work-out that now happens with one or all the kids taking an active part in the exercises. A this point I need to change into my gym gear, and I start with the shoes to build up the outfit. These trainers are always used for indoor exercise so no brainer what to add as a preferred item in W2W and the style is obviously sporty. Here’s the result, which is satisfying to say the least.

Then I change into something comfy and dressy at the same time for home-schooling my younger girl who needs more attention and time. I prefer to assume the air of a teaching authority, so I usually pick up a nice top that I haven’t considered for ages and input in W2W. 😊 💛
The lunch is quick because everyone’s busy and then we switch with my husband so I can WFH, while he picks up the teaching duties. I try to do my best for whatever time I have on my hands and of course I style up accordingly to be at my optimal productivity and motivation levels.
The late afternoon is our family team building time and we indulge in all kind of activities in the back yard that include chilling out with coffee and sweets, skipping rope, doing aero yoga, playing tennis, etc. This setting comes with certain outfit requirements so here’s how I approach the styling. 😎
The dinner is special and this is the reason I’ve decided to cook and dine in style. The approach is to choose a dress, use it as preferred item in W2W and style as if I’m going on a date night with my hubby. Then my obligations can be regarded as pleasure and I even enjoy the prep as much as the dinner itself! 🍽🥂
The date night though should never be cancelled! Imagine you are at a bar and just indulge into an intimate conversation over a glass of wine in a fancy outfit. Trust me, that’s all you need. 👗
Finally, movie time and off to bed.
What do you think? Can you do a couple of outfit changes to make you feel and think of different settings and occasions. For me, this is the ultimate game changer that soothes the mundane and makes for an exciting routine. I’ve kind of stated to adapt and even to enjoy these unusual times…😎😍
