3-Step Outfit Plan for
I find transitional seasons exacerbating for a number of reasons, the unpredictable weather and the associated outfit troubles being the most demanding of all.
The challenges however always provide us with opportunities, so I choose to grab the chance and upgrade my personal style in line with the shifting trends instead of grieving over the passing summer vibes.
I’ve devised and tested a 3-Step Outfit Plan that has proven to be very efficient in alleviating the difficult switch from summer to fall mode in mood and outfits.
1. Closet Inventory
First of all, I inventory my wardrobe and check which of my existing fall clothing is still good to be part of the game. Some of the classics and basics will do for sure as well as some of my favorite all-time pieces. The good news is that there’s no need to rummage through overstuffed dressers. I just filter my digital closet on La Koketa app and see what I can work with for the upcoming season.
Here I selected “Autumn” season to check all of my relevant clothing and then “Outerwear” type, which is vital for layering due to the unexpected weather changes.
Next, I research what’s going to be on-trend for the season ahead and select a couple of essential pieces in trendy models or colors that are missing from my wardrobe. This season I’ve spotted the itty-bitty bags, but disregarded them as too impractical, but the orchid purple is something that definitely picked my interest. Capes are also something very convenient and comfy for layering and the best part about the belt trend is you don’t need to invest a lot. So, now I know what I’ll be looking for!
3. New Buys
After having done all the research on old stock and new trends, this is the fun part. Being an experienced shopper, I rarely overdose on shopping because the right decision is just a button tap away with La Koketa app. So here’s how I went about the decision and buying process!
I’ve already made my mind that I’ll go for an outerwear in millennial purple because that’s the most conspicuous piece of clothing that can work with basic tops and bottoms and still make you look and feel trendy. I tapped the Shop section, filtered outerwear in purple and selected my favorite brands.
Then I browsed for stylish models of leather jackets and oversize blazers in purple. These are the types I’m obsessed with during transitional weather because they can easily make the whole look complete, sophisticated and chic with a minimum effort.
When viewing a shop item that I love, I just tap the “What to Wear” button and the algorithm combines my existing clothes with the new piece, which is featured in all outfit suggestions. Thus, I know if investing in this new jacket or blazer makes any sense at all. Then, the decision is easy-peasy!
